"Yingluck" starts field campaigns for vote

BANGKOK, May 20 (TNA) - "Yingluck Shinawatra", the nominee for Thailand's first female prime minister from the Puea Thai Party in the July 3 general election, on Friday helped a Puea Thai candidate campaign for votes in Bangkok's Bang Kapi area, saying that she was happy, as people gave her a warm welcome.
Forty-three-year-old Yingluck, who is the Puea Thai Party’s number one listed candidate, together with Puea Thai economic team members including Olarn Chaiprawat and Wirul Techapaibul, as well as Puea Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit, launched the electoral campaign for their Constituency 15 candidate Pakdiharn Himathongkham at the Bang Kapi market. They listened to people’s complaints on goods prices and drew attention from vendors there.
The leading Thai businesswoman-turned politician checked the prices of chicken eggs and meat and told reporters that she is gathering information to review her party's policies and she has learned that people are suffering from rising goods prices; so, her Puea Thai Party would quickly solve the rising costs of living problem by reducing production costs and improving logistics, if taking office after the new national poll.
Yingluck, who is the youngest sister of exiled ex-Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra, said she has considered criticisms that she might have a qualification problem due to a previous share concealment case of Thaksin and has already found out that there will not be any legal problem. (TNA)
