“Abhisit” launches campaign in Kanchanaburi

BANGKOK, May 20 (TNA) - Thai caretaker prime minister and Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva is leading his team to launch an electoral campaign in Thailand's western Kanchanaburi Province on Friday.
Accompanied by caretaker Deputy Commerce Minister and a Democrat Party executive Alongkorn Ponlaboot, two former Kanchanaburi MPs, Parames Photharakul and Pracha Photipipit, and Kanchanaburi candidate Chatphan Dejkitsunthorn, Abhisit visited Moo 1 village in Nong Khao Sub-district of Tha Muang District on Friday morning to listen to local farmers' problems and announce the Democrat Party's proposed policy on income insurance for them, which would increase their profits by 25 per cent.
The caretaker Thai premier said that he wanted people to participate in electing their next prime minister and government based on the democratic rule and anticipated that Thailand would resume its progress in the wake of domestic political turbulence over the past 4-5 years; so he returned power to people and wished for a democratic national poll on July 3 when the Thai electorate truly have freedom to make their choices.
Abhisit and his team are scheduled to then visit Wat Rai Khing in Thailand's central Nakhon Pathom Province in the afternoon to present their party's educational policies. (TNA)
