S.BATBOLD MEETS ROMANIAN DELEGATION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ S.Batbold PM received Thursday a visiting delegation headed by Mr. Viktor-Viorel Ponta, a member of Romanian parliament, head of the Romanian-Mongolian inter-parliamentary group and chairman of the Romanian Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The Premier has thanked the Romanian delegation for visiting Mongolia "after a long-year time", and emphasized that the two countries have traditional and friendly relations. Mentioning about the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations celebrated last year, the Premier has hoped Romania, one of the active members of the European Union (EU), will support Mongolia's goal to introduce the European standards.
In turn, the delegation has expressed a gratitude to the Premier for the warm audience, underlining their visit became the first step to elevate the bilateral relations into a new level.
Mr. Ponta has expressed a willingness to forward the relations and cooperation that were in stagnation for 20 years. He has emphasized that it is possible to boost the cooperation in the coal-based energy sector, and that an opportunity exists to open consulates and cooperate in the economic sector.
The Premier has appreciated the proposal to open diplomatic missions, and said he will order some officials to study the opportunities. He has pointed out this visit has really made a basis vital for the relations, and emphasized an importance of developing an active cooperation.
