Minister of Trade, Czech Ambassador discuss strengthening economic ties

Baghdad (NINA) – Minister of trade, Khairallah Hassan Babaker, discussed with Czech Ambassador in Iraq Brunea Tomasuva ways to promote and activate the development prospects of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

A statement from the Ministry of Trade said "the minister met with the Czech Ambassador, and discussed with her economic and trade relations; the minister expressed Iraq’s need for to the Czech experience in the fields of reconstruction and investment."

The statement quoted the minister as saying "Iraq is about to shift towards economic openness and support the private sector, and this requires benefiting from experiences and experiments pursued by the Czech Republic in this area."

The Czech Ambassador said "the Czech Prime Minister will arrive in Baghdad next week heading a high-level delegation, including ministers of trade, industry, finance and defense as well as businessmen representing 35 companies operating in the Czech industrial, commercial, and oil sectors." /End/
