Dabbagh: forming higher committee to follow up on the Kuwaiti port Mubarak




Baghdad (NINA) - Government spokesman, Ali Al Dabbagh, said the Iraqi government formed a higher technical committee of experts from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Transportation to study various aspects related to the building of Kuwait's port on Bubiyan Island.

Dabbagh said in a statement to NINA that the committee that will work in coordination with the United Nations will go in next few days to Kuwait to know in the field the various aspects of the proposed port of Kuwait and determine the damage it can inflict on the marine movement in Iraq.

Dabbagh said that the committee will write a detailed report to the Cabinet to declare all the points it would find on the movement of maritime transport and the impact of the establishment of the port of Mubarak and its future impacts on the Iraqi project, Great Port of Faw.

About the statements attributed to him by Kuwaiti newspaper, Al Siyasa, on the Port Mubarak, Al-Dabbagh stressed that the newspaper published an incomplete statement and that it was not precise in conveying the statement.
