Number 10 does not worry Abhisit

BANGKOK, May 19 (TNA) - Thailand's Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said he is not worried by the fact that he drew the No. 10 slot for his party for the July 3 election.

Mr Abhisit said that the number drawing of political parties went smoothly on Thursday and that it was now the right time for political parties to present their policies to people. He said his party would continue with its good projects to solve people’s problems including economic issues and narcotics.

“I insist that drawing No. 10 will not lead to any problems with vote campaigns because people have been watching the different political parties closely and know who they want to vote for. It is not difficult to learn about policies but it is easy for the parties that have single-digit numbers to campaign for votes,” Mr Abhisit said while raising all his ten fingers.

Meanwhile, Chuan Leekpai, former prime minister and chief adviser to the Democrat Party, said the slot number would not affect the votes for his party and would not have any psychological impact. He said No. 10 was a word of one syllable and thus it would not confuse people. He also congratulated the Pheu Thai Party for drawing No. 1 and gave moral support to the parties that drew subsequent numbers. (TNA)
