Investment Forum of Kazakhstan to be held in Astana
ASTANA (Itar-Tass) - Within the framework of an annual
session of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), an
Investment Forum of Kazakhstan will be held at the capital Palace of
Independence on Thursday. It was organized by the national export and
investments agency KAZNEX INVET under the patronage of the Financial
Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the republic.
Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov and EBRD President Thomas Mirov
are expected to take part in the event. All in all, as its organizers
said, 1,500 people will participate in the forum devoted to the topic
"Kazakhstan, Investments, Industrialization, Innovations." Among them are
representatives of major international corporations and Kazakh companies,
state bodies, associations of entrepreneurs, as well as scientists and
experts in the sphere of business and finances.
Topical problems and prospect of development of investment cooperation
in the republic are to be discussed within the framework of three
sessions. One of them will be devoted to the state programme of
accelerated industrial and innovation development as a key tool to
implement investment projects. Investment possibilities of the oil and gas
section of Kazakhstan are offered to be discussed at the second session.
The republic's attractiveness for institutional investors and ways of
development of capital markets are to be discussed at the third session.
Besides, an exhibition, at which more than 120 industrial and
innovation projects to the total sum of 45 billion dollars in the
agro-industrial, chemical, energy and construction sectors, as well as in
the mining and metallurgical section and the transport infrastructure will
be presented, will be presented.
Investment Forum is traditionally held by the host country on the eve
of an EBRD annual session. The present session is opening in Astana on May
20. Last year an Investment Forum was held in the capital of Croatia.
