Int'l festival of conjurers, circus to be held in Perm Jun 3-9

PERM (Itar-Tass) - Perm will become the first city in Russia
to play host to a large-scale international festival of conjurers and
contemporary circus performers, the White Magic, People's Artist of Russia
Vladimir Danilin, chief ideologist of the White Magic project, has told
Itar-Tass.
The best circus troupes from Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Norway,
Finland, France, and Croatia will arrive here for the festival.
Performing skills are to be demonstrated by Norbert Ferre, Jerome Murat
and Hygyes Protat (France), Viktor Voitko (Ukraine), Vladimir Bastrakov
(Perm), and famous American conjurer Jeff McBride who will show his unique
stunt with masks and conduct a series of master classed for professional
illusionists.
The festival will acquaint audiences with innovative circus based on
the synthesis of scenic arts -- acrobatics, choreography, and video art --
and poetry. Festival events are to take place on the main stage, which is
to be set up for the purpose opposite the building of the Legislative
Assembly of the Perm Territory, as well as Organ Music and Grand Halls of
Perm philharmonic society.
A show to be presented by a circus troupe Sacude from Spain will be
the culmination of the festival which is to be held from June 3 to 9.
