House collapses in Vladimir region, killing six-year-oil girl
MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - A six-year-old girl died as a result of
the collapse of a residential building in the town of Strunino, Vladimir
Region. Criminal proceedings have been instituted, an official at the
Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) said early
Wednesday.
An ICRF report posted at its website says, "According to an inquiry, a
40-apartment brick four-storey house on Sovetskaya Ulitsa (street) in the
town of Strunino, Alexandrovsky District of Vladimir Region, partially
collapsed at approximately 20:30 on May 17, 2011. A six -year-old girl
died as a result of the collapse. Other data on victims are being
ascertained. Eighty-nine people are registered in the house".
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on the strength of signs of
a crime listed in RF Penal Code Article 109, Part 1, "The infliction of
death by negligence".
Investigators and criminalists of the ICRF inquiry department for the
Vladimir Region are currently at work at the scene of the incident,
finding out the causes of the house collapse
