NATO refutes info on Gaddafi troops' firing on NATO ship

CAIRO (Itar-Tass) - NATO has officially refuted information
according to which troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi attacked one of NATO
combatant ships, a NATO spokesman stated Wednesday.
The spokesman said the report had been a totally unfounded assertion.
According to him, none of NATO naval ships had approached so closely the
shoreline so that Gaddafi troops could fire at it and inflict any damage.
Earlier Wednesday, the state television of Jamahiriyah reported that
the Libyan leader-controlled armed forces had inflicted serious losses on
a NATO warship which had been in the Mediterranean in the area of Misurata
