Lavrov to attend Orenburg reg econ potential presentation
MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - A ceremony marking the presentation of
the economic potential of Orenburg Region is to be held in the Foreign
Ministry mansion on Spiridonovka Ulitsa (street) here on Wednesday, with
Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov attending.
The region's delegation, led by Governor Yuri Berg, will describe the
region's resources for cooperation with foreign partners in the fields of
heavy and light industries, the agri-industrial sector, tourism, and
sports.
Participants in the ceremony will be able to get acquainted with the
basic orientations for the operation of the machine building and
agricultural sectors, research organizations, and learn about the work of
the integrated plant making world-famed downy shawls.
Expert estimate is that in recent years the Orenburg Region has been
occupying worthy places in the rating of minimal investment risks. The
region governor points out that the course towards the optimization of
enterprises, and new economic patterns that presuppose, in particular,
mutually beneficial cooperation with investors, will make it possible to
strengthen the region's positions on the external market.
Products made by Orenburg region manufacturers are supplied to more
than 80 countries. Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, and
China are traditionally reckoned the region's main partners. "We seek to
look for new reliable areas for cooperation," Yuri Berg emphasizes
