National Business Education Accreditation Council holds Training Session of Evaluators

Islamabad, May 16, 2011 (PPI): Following is the text of press note issued by Higher Education Commission

The National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) organized the fourth Training Session of Evaluators at Peshawar, after three successful training sessions in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
The two-day session was aimed to train the Evaluators of Accreditation Inspection Committee to perform Peer Review Process during accreditation. Most of the public and private universities from KPK and Balochistan region participated in the training.
Mr. Karamat Ullah Khan, Speaker, KPK Assembly was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the efforts of HEC to improve the quality of business education in the country. He suggested to create further opportunities for such type of training courses.
The master trainers of the course included Dr. Mohammad Nishat, Vice Chairman NBEAC and Associate Dean, Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Dr. Rasheed Kausar, Pro Rector, University of Management and Technology, Lahore and Dr. Nasser Ali Khan, Director, Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar.
Dr. Nasser Ali Khan conducted the training on first Module, NBEAC Accreditation Procedure. The objective of this session was to clarify all the queries of Evaluators related to NBEAC and its accreditation process.
Dr. Mohammad Nishat gave a comprehensive and interactive lecture on Self-Assessment Process. The session carried out fruitful and healthy discussion on preparation of Self-Assessment Report.
Dr. Rasheed Kausar deliberated on Peer Review Process, its objectives and assessment procedures. He defined the standards to assess the proforma by AIC Evaluators.
Mr. Farman Ullah Anjum, Director, HEC Regional Centre, Peshawar gave a brief presentation about achievements of HEC in KPK over the past few years. Mr. Fida Hussain, Director General, Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), HEC talked about the role of QAA to improve the quality of education in Pakistan. Mr. Ehtesham Ali Raja, Program Manager (NBEAC) was also present on the occasion.
The trainings proved to be a beneficial step towards strengthening the efforts of NBEAC and HEC to train the evaluators to conduct the evaluation process. Advanced level training by a foreign expert will also be organized this year.
