Islamabad, May 16, 2011 (PPI): Visiting Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdullah in talks with Interior Minister Rehman Malik discussed security ties. Abdullah stressed “precise and complete implementation” of security pacts between the two countries, Iran's IRNA news agency reported Monday.
Both sides also discussed campaigns against terrorism, narcotics, human trafficking, organized crime, and border control. Abdullah and Malik also decided on formation of a Tehran-Islamabad security commission to be chaired by security deputies of Interior Ministers of Iran & Pakistan, IRNA said.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for expansion of Tehran-Islamabad cooperation in fighting terrorism and drug trafficking. “Such cooperation will be beneficial to both nations and regional countries,” Ahmadinejad said in meeting with Rehman Malik recently in Tehran.
