MONGOLIA AND KALMYKIA MAY BOAST THEIR LIVESTOCK

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolian President's advisor L.Erkhembayar has received representatives led by a rector of Russian Kalmykia's Agricultural sciences institute Mr. A.Arilov.
During his visit to Russia, Mongolia's President will stop in Kalmykia, Erkhembayar mentioned and said he wants to share with them views on cooperation prior to this visit.
Mr. Avilov spoke about his institute, then said that they want to cooperate in improving Kalmykian livestock's gene-pool, "because the Mongolian and our livestock have the same genes, but your animals are much better in adjusting to any weather conditions." Apart of this, "we can make the world know about our and your livestock in frames of a beef-breeding programme, which has been implemented in south regions of Russia, run experiences exchange in stopping sands migration and decreasing a desertification,” he said.
Russian Kalmykia has 2 million 500 thousand sheep, 450 thousand cows, 22 thousand horses, 500 camels.
