MP: the repeated Kuwaiti violations indicate that Iraq lost its prestige

Baghdad (NINA) - Leader in the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ali Shubbar, called on the government and the Parliament to take appropriate action against what he called the many abuses by Kuwait against Iraq.

He said in a statement to NINA on Sunday "the weakness of the Iraqi position is due to not solving many problems that made ​​Kuwait and other Arab countries abuse Iraq and try to weaken it more."

He added "the Kuwaiti abuses are many; on the borders, in the issue of compensations, or building a new port, and this indicates that Iraq has no prestige in front of other countries."

He added "the Iraqi government, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, and the parliament should strive to reach a solution to the things that impact negatively on the situation in Iraq."

He went on saying "we do not doubt the purity of the intention with the governments of neighboring countries as far as we see weakness or indifference by officials in the Iraqi government with regard to the position of the many outstanding issues with some neighboring countries." /End/
