‘Iran backs Syria since Damascus supports resistance’
TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) -- Top Iranian legislator Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is supporting the Syrian government because Damascus is backing the resistance movement against Israel’s occupation of Arab lands.
“Syria is providing great assistance to resistance, therefore the position that we have taken (toward Syria) is very natural,” stated Boroujerdi, who is the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chairman.
