Presidency office: Talabani asked Abdul Mahdi to do president’s tasks during his absence abroad

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of the Presidency Office, Naseer Al Ani, announced that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani assigned Vice-President Adel Abdul-Mahdi to carry out the Presidency missions during the period that Talabani is going to be out of the country in cooperation with VPs Tareq Al Hashemi and Khudair Khuzae.

In a press conference, Al Ani referred to the need to focus on the presidency missions under the new situation as a symbol of the country, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Prime Minister, the Parliament Presidency, and the Supreme Judicial Council.



Talabani left last week to the United States for periodical medical tests according to a statement issued by the presidency office.
