Voters say budget is bad for economy: poll

AAP-May,14-Only 28 per cent of voters believe the budget will be good for the economy, a Galaxy poll has found.
Just 11 per cent of voters believed the budget shows Labor are reliable economic managers while support for the $300 million set-top box scheme for pensioners is lowest among those it seeks to benefit, the poll published in The Saturday Daily Telegraph found.
Among the over-50s, 61 per cent oppose the plan to install the devices, while 40 per cent strongly oppose it.
The negative assessments mark a dramatic shift from last year, when 43 per cent of voters rated the 2010 budget as good for the economy.
Among Labor voters, only 47 per cent believe the 2011 budget is positive, the poll has found.
