Putin urges defence enterprises to raise profitability to 15 prc

TOGLIATTI, May 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Prime Minister Vladimir Putin urged
Russian defence enterprises to raise their profitability to at least 15
percent.
"Profitability in the defence industry should be 15 percent as a
minimum," Putin said at a congress of the Union of Machine Builders on
Wednesday, May 11.
According to Sergei Chemezov, the chairman of the Union of Machine
Builders and the head of Rostekhnologii, "profitability of some defence
enterprises decreased to 2-3 percent in 2010".
Putin said the government was also considering the possibility of 100
percent prepayment for defence orders.
