Action against ‘vulgar channels’ welcomed
KARACHI, May 11, 2011 (PPI): Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing has welcomed the decision of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for banning those foreign channels in Pakistan that are spreading vulgarity.
It said that some cable operators were showing objectionable programs, which were against our religious and moral values, legal provisions and the rules of PERMA.
The cleanup operation should be started against those cable operators who are spreading obscenity and vulgarity, said a spokesman of JI Women Wing, demanding the government also to take action against the vulgar advertisements of some multinational companies marketing soaps, toiletries and other such products.
