Lionel Rose funeral at Festival Hall

SYDNEY (AAP) - Boxing great Lionel Rose will be farewelled at a state funeral in Melbourne next Monday.
Fittingly, the funeral will be held at Festival Hall, the venue where Rose won his first big fight in 1963.
Five years later he became the first Aboriginal world champion when he beat Japan's Fighting Harada in Tokyo for the world bantamweight title.
Rose died on Sunday, aged 62, after being in ill health since suffering a stroke in 2007.
