PURNOMO TO GIVE CLARIFICATION ON TANGGUH CASE
Jakarta, Sept 5 (ANTARA) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro expressed readiness to make a clarification of the case on the Tangguh liquefied natural gas contract.
"Im ready to give a clarification if asked," he said here, Thursday.
Previously Purnomo also stated that he is ready to step down if the president asked him to.
He said the entire process of the negotiations on Tangguh up to the signing of the contract took place profesionally and transparently.
"The price to Fujian is based on the result of the Guangdong tender we followed, but lost," he said.
LNG contract price to Fujian of US$2.4 per MMBTU in accordance with the market price in 2002.
In fact, Qatar had sold their LNG at US$1.5 per MMBTU by that time.
Including the application upper limit of the Fujian contract because the buyers set the price and at that time all used the upper level.
At the time, for the past 20 years, the price stayed at US$10-20, as the US$25 Fujian upper level is reasonable.
