Tomsk forum to deal with steps to innovation economics in Russia
TOMSK, May 11 (Itar-Tass) - An INNOVUS conference on the theme of
"Innovation Russia-202o: How to Launch Economics of Knowledge?" is to be
held here from May 26 to 27, a regional administration official has told
Itar-Tass.
Politicians, Cabinet ministers, governors of regions, executives of
large business companies, state corporations, representatives of
universities, developers of technnological platforms, and foreign experts
are to participate in the conference the programme of which is based on
the Strategy for Innovation Development of the Russian Federation within a
Period Ending in 2020. Head of the RF presidential administration Sergei
Naryshkin is expected to attend the forum.
An Open Univesity Skolkovo will begin its proceedings here during the
forum. New technologies developed by innovation companies will be
demonstrated at an exhibition of innovations. A series of master clases
will become a major practical part of the INNOVUS, which has been
organized by the RF presidential administration, the Russian Ministry of
Economic Development, and theTomsk Region administration.
Tomsk has gained a conisderable innovation development experience
which can be of use in other regions. Fifty-nine innovation resident
companies, among them seven with foreign capital, already operate here
within the scope of the Special Economic Zone of technology introduction
type.
Tomsk Region Governor Viktor Kress has become the initiator of
establishing an Association of Innovation Regions of Russia in 2010. "We
are always ready for cooperation, and are ready to share the region's
experience and achievements. Our region was the first to adopt a law "On
Innovation Activities," he pointed out.
