MP: collecting 100 MPs signatures to issue a binding decision of the Government regarding Kuwait's violating territorial waters

Baghdad (NINA) - MP from the National Alliance-Al Ahrar Bloc, Uday Awad, announced collecting the signatures of 100 MPs to issue a binding resolution to the government on "Kuwait's violations of territorial waters."

He told NINA "the request will be submitted today to the Presidency of the Parliament, asking them to issue a binding decision of the government on the fact that Kuwait is building a new port beyond the territorial waters."

Awad added "we have asked that this topic to be on the agenda of the meetings of this week."

Kuwait announced in last April the establishment of (Mubarak Port) on the unmanned island of (Boubyan).

Experts have warned of the impact of this project on the dream of Iraq, the establishment of what became known as the Great Port of Faw, which is hoped to be the gate of East Asia to Europe and the Mediterranean countries. The experts describe the Kuwaiti project as "the new crisis that may be added to the crisis of the land-borders that both countries suffer continuing problems because of which since 1990.”
