Bayati describes cancelling the F16 deal as grave strategic mistake

Baghdad (NINA) - Leadership in National Alliance, MP Abbas Al Bayati, described cancelling the F16 deal as a grave strategic mistake that will make the Iraqi skies open and without control and protection.

He said in a statement to NINA "we have to address this imbalance through the supplementary budget, especially since there is a rise in oil prices, because, this matter is related to security which has priority over other things."

He called on the government to "reconsider this matter as the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq is approaching."
