S.Korea ready to invite Kim Jong-Il to coming nuclear summit

SEOUL, May 10 (Itar-Tass) - South Korea is ready to invite North
Korean leader Kim Jong-Il to Seoul for the coming international nuclear
summit next year with the participation of leaders of world powers.
"I suggest inviting Kim Jong-Il to Seoul for the coming international
nuclear summit next year on March-26-27 under condition that the DPRK
gives up sincerely and consistently its nuclear programmes," said the
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.
If this condition is fulfilled, the North Korean leader gets history's
first chance to participate in an international summit with the
participation of leaders of the world community as well as to hold talks
with the South Korean president.
In the South Korean president's opinion, this version opens "good
possibilities for a bright future of North Korea under condition that that
country turns its face to the world community". Thereby, Seoul analysts
believe, the South Korean president indicated a chance of getting economic
aid for North Korea and security guarantees if Pyongyang gives up its
nuclear ambitions.
The leaders of Russia, the US, China and other states will participate
in the summit on nuclear security problems, scheduled in Seoul by the end
of next March.
