Persian Gulf software now available for researchers

TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) -- The first Persian Gulf Index Software was unveiled during a ceremony at the Tehran International Book Fair on Sunday.

The event was attended by Iran Public Libraries Foundation Director Mansur Vaezi, Majlis Cultural Committee chairman Qolam-Ali Haddad-Adel and some members.

Over 110 software programs have been produced by the foundation and Persian Gulf software will be a great help for researchers and academics, the compiler of the software Mohammadreza Kashani mentioned at the ceremony.

He went on to say that the software contains over 900 articles on historical, geographical and legal aspects of the Persian Gulf. The user has access to the complete text of the articles.

After that, Haddad-Adel posed some questions about the software and tried to search on some keywords using the software.

Some articles are penned by Iranian high-ranking officials and others are historical stories and crucial events that have occured in the Persian Gulf.

Some information on the strategic and military position of the Persian Gulf as well as its aquatic life is also mentioned in this software.

Tehran International Book Fair will run until May 14 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
