Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by S.Bayartsogt, the Minister of Finance has attended the 44th Annual Meeting Board of Governors Asian Development Bank (ADB) held May 6 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
During the meeting, the Minister has met with Mr. Hiroshi Kodera, the vice president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). They have discussed an issue on guidelines of the Mongolia-JICA collaboration and shared views on course of the projects that are being implemented now.
Japan plans to update its assistance program, and the Japanese side has given a report to cooperate with Mongolia in the three directions in priority. The Finance Minister has expressed a willingness to consult issues with the JICA's representatives on sophisticated spheres in frames of the basic directions.
The Mongolia's delegation has held a meeting with Kazu Sakai, Director General of ADB's Strategy and Policy Department; and K. Gerhaeusser, Director General of ADB's East Asia Department for discussing augmenting the credit rating of Mongolia and an opportunity of financing Mongolia with an ordinary source of the ADB.
If Mongolia gains an opportunity to get financing from the ADB's ordinary source, the biggest projects on infrastructure would be realized. A strategic document is being drawn up on cooperation between Mongolia's government and the ADB until 2015. Thus, the credit rating of Mongolia and a matter on financial source are important to finally establish the strategic document.
Mr. Sakai has reported that the ADB's Board of Governors is working with an effort to augment the Mongolia's credit rating within this year.
The Mongolia's delegation and Mr. Gerhaeusser have shared views on implementation and course of the projects realized in Mongolia with the ADB's financing.
