Woman's body found in boot in Newcastle
The body of a young woman has been discovered in the boot of a car on a street in Newcastle.
Acting on a tip, police said they went to Grainger Street, Lambton, about 3.15pm (AEST) on Monday.
There officers found the body of a woman, believed to be aged in her mid to late 20s, in the boot of a car.
A 31-year-old man has been taken into custody and is assisting investigators with their inquiries.
A post mortem examination will be held to determine the woman's identity and a cause of death.
