Thai PM returns from Jakarta
BANGKOK, May 9 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva arrived in Bangkok late Sunday night, following a trip to Indonesia for the 18th ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, which was held on May 7 and 8.
Arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport at about 11pm local time, the Thai leader refused to say when he would give an update on the progress of the House's dissolution.
Earlier last week, Abhisit had said in an interview given after submitting a royal decree to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, that he would hold another news conference about the dissolution on May 9, drawing up a keen eye from the public.
The Democrat leader was quoted on Sunday night however, confirming a report from abroad that the next general election would be held on July 3 this year. (TNA)
