Qatar to Participate in WHA Conference in Geneva
Doha, May 08 (QNA) - Qatar will participate in the sixty-fourth session of the Conference of the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland during the period from 16 until 24 May.
Qatar's delegation to the meeting will be led by HE the Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani.
The State of Qatar in the 64th session this year assumes special importance in its capacity as a candidate for the membership of the World Health Organization's executive board for which elections will be held on 20 May 2011.
HE Al Qahtani, who is also Chairman of the current session of the Executive Board of the Arab Health Ministers Council and the 71 Conference of GCC Health Ministers Council and his accompanying delegation, will take part in a number of international and regional conferences to be held on the side lines of the World Health Assembly's session.
