Shahristani puts cornerstone for power station in Karbala
Karbala (NINA) - Hussein Shahristani, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, put the cornerstone of the Kheirat power plant project in Twairij district, 25 km east of Karbala.
Shahristani said in a press statement today "the company implementing the project promised the completion of the plant in a period less than the specified period, which is thirty months, hoping to run a unit of ten units of the capacity of 125 MW during the next summer"
he noted that "the project costs $450 million and includes ten obstetric units producing 1250 MW and will contribute to increase the productive capacity of the production of electrical energy."
He stressed "the plant will produce 20% of power production of electrical energy at the level of Iraq."
Shahristani continued "a gas station will be built in Nineveh, capacity of 750 MW, in addition to putting the foundation stone for the first Al Sadr station in the coming days and the second Sadr station as well."
