MALAYSIA MAY PROVE A RECEPTIVE MARKET FOR PAKISTAN'S HIGH QUALITY CUTLERY PRODUCTS

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysia may prove to be an extremely receptive market for Pakistan's high quality cutlery products following the large number of sample orders received recently.

A 12-member delegation of top cutlery exporters and manufacturers from
Pakistan visited Kuala Lumpur and Penang recently to meet with local importers
and suppliers.

The delegation also met representatives from hypermarkets like Giant and
Mydin as well as cutlery suppliers to the hotel industry.

In a statement released by the Pakistan High Commission, the Pakistan
Cutlery and Stainless Utensils Manufacturers and Exporters Association chairman,
Zafar Iqbal Butta, described the visit as having been very successful in respect
of introducing the cutlery products.

"A large number of sample orders were won during meetings and we are
confident that Malaysia will prove an extremely receptive market for the export
of Pakistan's cutlery products," Butta said.

According to the statement, the visit was also to explore the potential for
the export of Pakistan's cutlery products to markets other than its traditional
ones.

Cutlery products from Pakistan are well known for high quality and low
prices, with exports mainly to the United States, the European Union and
Japan.
