People in western Thai South warned of new flooding

BANGKOK, May 7 (TNA) - Thailand's Meteorological Department issued a statement on Saturday, warning people living in areas of the western part of the Thai South, including those in Ranong, Phang-nga and Phuket Provinces, to brace for a new wave of heavy downpours and possible flash floods over the next couple of months, from May 7-11.

The weather agency said that there should also be high tides in the Andaman Sea and the upper part of the Gulf of Thailand; so, small fishing boats should not go offshore during the period. (TNA)
