DPRK leader inspects capital textile enterprises


PYONGYANG, May 7 (Itar-Tass) -- DPRK Leader Kim Joing-il has inspected
textile enterprises in the capital. As the Central News Agency of Korea
reports on Saturday, the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea
(WPK), Chairman of the State Committee complimented their administration,
workers and engineers "who boldly introduce new technologies in the
production process." Such an approach, as he stressed, "corresponds to the
WPK policy considering science and technologies as a vitally important
basis for the creation of an advanced economic power."
Kim Jong-il set the labour collective new tasks stressing the
necessity to "make a radical turn in the textile industry in the interests
of raising living standards of the population." "It is necessary to
increase the volume of production and quality of textile and women's
clothes for all seasons," he noted.
A large group of WPK leaders participated in the inspection trip of
the DPRK leader.
