VP DEDICATES TOYOTA SPARE PARTS CENTER
Jakarta, Sept 4 (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla dedicated Toyota spare parts center at the MM2100 industrial area in West Cikarang, West Java, on Thursday.
The dedication of spare parts center was marked with the signing of a plaque by the vice president.
Toyota Astra Motor President Director Johny Darmawan said the spare part center was supported by the central government and it was a breakthrough from Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
Johny said car sale in Indonesia from January to August this year rose by 40 percent, while the Toyota car sale this year rose from 44,000 units last year to 108,000 units this year.
"So far, 80,000 units of completely built up Toyota cars have been exported or rose by 1,000 percent from 7,200 units in 2005," Johny said, adding that investment in Toyota from 2003-2006 was recorded at US$570 million.
He said up to the end of 2007 Toyota Group had employed more than 120,000 workers, and exported cars and spare parts to more than 30 countries.
