Federal Sabantui to be held in Yekaterinburg in 2011

YEKATERINBURG, May 6 (Itar-Tass) -- Participants from 60 regions and
republics of Russia will participate in Federal Sabantui due to be held in
Yekaterinburg this year.
As ITAR-TASS learnt at the information department of the Sverdlovsk
Region governor, the celebrations are scheduled for July 1-2. Governor
Alexander Misharin expressed gratitude to the leadership of Tatarstan for
the decision to hold this important event in Yekaterinburg. Ural residents
have studied the experience of holding of previous Federal Sabantuis in
Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Izhevsk and other cities. The Tatar and
Bashkortostanian diasporas in the Sverdlovsk Region exceeds 200,000 people.
The main venue of the holiday will be the Lokomotiv stadium where a
concert of masters of arts of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and the Sverdlovsk
Region will be given. The national belt wrestling of Tatarstan and
Bashkortostan will be the key sport competition of the holiday. Besides,
different national exhibitions will be organized.
