Russia, China agree to coordinate efforts to promote Middle East

MOSCOW, May 6 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and China have agreed to coordinate
their efforts to prevent negative developments in the Middle East and
Northern Africa, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday
after a meeting with his visiting Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.
"We discussed the situation in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Russia and China are both seriously concerned over this situation," he
said. "It is fraught with the most serious global shocks. We agreed to use
the possibilities of the two countries to coordinate our efforts to
promote the soonest stabilization of the situation, and to prevent
possible negative and unpredictable consequences."
