Thai people celebrate the Coronation Day

BANGKOK, May 5 (TNA) - People in many provinces have participated in activities to mark the Coronation Day.
The Bangkok governor chaired a ceremony to open a sports event in which over 8,400 people performed an aerobic dance and ran from Siriraj Hospital to Lumpini Park.
Government officials and people in Mae Sariang district of northern Mae Hong Son province gathered to show their loyalty to His Majesty the King. They vowed to be responsible citizens and wished good health for the revered Thai King.
At the provincial hall in northeastern Buri Ram, people gathered for a ceremony to honour the monarch and extended their best wishes in front of the King’s portrait.
In Phichit, community members and inmates took part to grow 84 sweet bamboo plants and vetiver grasses at a local prison. The facility also functions as a sufficiency-learning center to train prisoners who are about to be released so they can lead a life of moderation aspired by the King.
