TS.ELBEGDORJ DISCUSSES RENEWABLE ENERGY MATTERS WITH GERMAN POLITICIAN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The State Head Ts.Elbegdorj met Tuesday Mr. Hans-Josef Fell, a member of the Bundestag and spokesman on energy for the Alliance 90--the Greens parliamentary group.
Mr. Fell has appreciated an active position kept by the President on environment protection and combating climate change, and briefed on Germany and other countries' experiences in renewable energy. He has said, for example, that when Germany approved the law on renewable energy in 2000, a reserves of this kind of energy grew from six percent to 17 per cent, and that this sphere of energy has become the second largest sector of the country following the car industry.
According to Stanford university's research, the mankind would become able to fully provide its needs in energy by the renewable one by the year 2030, he has said adding "the use of this energy will stop global climate change and warming."
In response, the President has said Mongolia tries to save energy and supports the renewable resources. "In our Gobi with its 300 sunny days a year we can use a solar energy," he has noted and added that recently founded in parliament "green group" is very actively discussing the energy-related matters.
Then the sides agreed to cooperate in issues of environmentally-friendly renewable energy.
Present at the meeting were Mr. Pius Fischer, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia.
