SJACHROEDIN GRABS MAJOR VOTES IN LAMPUNG GUBERNATORIAL RACE

Bandarlampung, Sept 4 (ANTARA) - Sjachroedin ZP-Joko Umar Said pair grabbed major votes (41.57 percent) in direct gubernatorial election here Wednesday based on quick count conducted by the Leading Pollster, Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI).
Sjachroedin ZP-Joko Umar Said, supported by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) won in all 11 districts and Bandarlampung city, the quick count results said.

In the direct gubernatorial race Sjachroedin ZP-Joko Umar Said defeated the pairs of Alzier Dianis Thabranie-Bambang Sudibyo (supported by Golkar, PKB,PPP), Zulkifli Anwar-Akhmadi Sumaryanto (supported by PKS,PAN), Andy Achmad Sampurna Jaya-HM Suparjo (supported by PBR,PD), and two independent pairs namely Muhajir Utomo-Andi Arief and Sofjan Jacoeb-Bambang Waluyo Utomo.

The LSI which was led by Syaiful Muzani said that some 31 percent out of 5,393,610 voters did not cast votes in the election.

PDI-P is led by Megawati Soekarnoputri, former Indonesian President, who is also the eldest daughter of the country's first president Soekarno.***3***
