WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY CELEBRATED IN MONTSAME
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On World Press Freedom Day, the MONTSAME National News Agency of Mongolia has presented to Mongolian journalists a “Freedom of information: a comparative legal survey” by Toby Mendel.
The presentation of the survey, a publication of which in a form of manual was supported by Mongolia's National Commission, ran Tuesday in the MONTSAME infocenter co-hosted by the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, UNESCO Mongolian National Commission, Mongolian Press Institute and the MONTSAME.
At the ceremony, Mr. T.Baasansuren, the Director-General of MONTSAME News Agency and president of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, read a message delivered by UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day.
During the event, a lecture was given by journalism researcher, doctor of science professor M. Zulkafil themed “Pressing issues of present journalism”.
The measure has been attended by representatives of the mass media and the journalism scholars.
