Police secure all important places after the death of Osama bin Laden

BANGKOK, May 3 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Police Office has ordered police to secure all important places nationwide to prevent terror attacks after the death of Osama bin Laden.
Police spokesman Pol Maj Gen Prawuth Thawornsiri said national police chief Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree has issued an urgent order to all police units nationwide after the death of Osama bin Laden, head of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.
According to the order, the Special Branch Police must step up its security measures for embassies, consulates and important diplomats and closely cooperate with their security teams. The Metropolitan Police Bureau, the Central Investigation Bureau and the Border Patrol Police Bureau will set up checkpoints and examine high rises in 300-meter radiuses to prevent the use of projectile weapons.
The Immigration Bureau will check incoming and outgoing people at all channels and examine hotels, residences, tourist destinations and gathering places of people from high-risk nationalities.
All agencies must keep a close watch on the places and agents of foreign businesses that may be targeted, integrate their intelligence and operations and report emergency cases to the Royal Thai Police Office right away. (TNA)
