GCC foreign ministers hold meeting 6 Jeddah

As regards the Iranian nuclear issue, the ministers underlined the
importance of adherence to the principles of the international
legitimacy and settling disputes through peaceful means. They
welcomed the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the western
countries, and hoped that the negotiations would lead to a peaceful
settlement.

The ministers called for making the Middle East region free from all
mass destruction weapons, and approved the right of the countries of
the region to acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes within
the framework of the international agreements in this respect.
As regards Iraq, the ministers reiterated the importance of
preserving Iraq's unity, sovereignty and independence and called for
avoiding intervention in its domestic affairs.
The ministers called for national reconciliation in Iraq.
