GCC Foreign Ministers hold meeting 5 Jeddah
As regards the Iranian occupation of the UAE's three islands, the
ministers reiterated their inalienable stand in this respect.
They noted that the three islands are indivisible part of the UAE,
and voiced sorrow for the failure of the contacts conducted with Iran
in this respect for attaining positive results.
The ministers called Iran to positively respond with the sincere
efforts of the UAE to settle the problem through either direct
negotiations or resorting to the international justice court.
The ministers condemned opening of Iran to two administrative offices
in Abu Musa Island, and called Iran to remove these illegal
installations and respect the sovereignty of the UAE.
The ministers lauded the visit recently paid by Sheikh Hamad bin
Khalifa al-Thani, the Qatari Emir, to Iran, and said the visit
reflected the good intentions and the importance of dialogue for
building confidence and enhancing relations between the GCC and Iran
in a manner that cements the pillars of security and stability in the
region.
