Ingush leader praises Bin Laden killing as big success in

NAZRAN, May 3 (Itar-Tass) -- Head of Russia's North Caucasian republic
of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said on Monday the elimination of
Al-Qaeda's leader Osama bin Laden was a big success in the fight against
international terrorism.
"It will facilitate the stabilization of the situation and is great
success in the fight against this global evil," he said. "Sooner or later,
all who encroach on peaceful life, on people will be punished as they
deserve as it was with bin Laden."
Yevkurov called on the youth, who due to these or those reasons have
sided with terrorist groups, to surrender arms and get back to a peaceful
life. These people will have to answer for their crimes in line with the
law but they will stay alive and those, who have committed no crime, will
have a chance to live a peaceful life, he pledged.
He also praised bin Laden's killing as helping to purify Islam.
"International terrorism leaders have been doing their dirty deeds using
religion as a cover," he said.
In an interview with the Ekho MOskvy (Moscow Echo) radio station also
on Monday, the Ingush leader said the elimination of the Al-Qaeda's
warlord will have a positive impact on the entire Muslim world.
"They have removed the litter that soiled the religion and undermined
the authority of Muslims," he said and noted that the killing of terrorist
number one will reduce the influence "from this part" on processes in the
Caucasus.
