GCC Foreign Ministers hold meeting 3 Jeddah
The GCC foreign ministers held yesterday a meeting with their Turkish
counterpart Ali Baba Jan in the presence of the GCC secretary General
Abdurrahman al-Atiyyah.
They reviewed a number of issues including the developments of the
Palestinian problem, the situation in Iraq, the Iranian nuclear issue
and other topics.
The ministers welcomed the memorandum of understanding for strategic
dialogue signed by the GCC and Turkey. The mou aims at coordination
and consultation in the various issues as well as enhancing
cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, defensive, security,
cultural and energy domains.
in line with the proposal of Qatar regarding the proposal of King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, approved by Doha Summit last December, which
called for removing obstacles that impede the march of the GCC, the
ministers called the GCC financial and economic cooperation committee
and the concerned ministers to hold an extraordinary meeting for
discussing the obstacles that face the joint work. That meeting will
be followed by a joint meeting for the GCC foreign ministers and the
financial and economic cooperation committee.
