Serbia ranked among 5 top states searching for Nazi war criminals

BELGRADE, May 2 (Itar-Tass) -- Serbia is ranked among five top
countries, which are searching actively of Nazi war criminals, the TANJUG
news agency cited the Simon Wiesenthal Center as saying in an annual
report made public in the United States.
The report noted Hungary's contribution in these activities. The
country decided to sue its citizen Sandor Kepiro for the massacre of 1,250
people in the Serbian city of Novi Sad in 1942.
Meanwhile, the center blasted insufficient efforts of such countries,
as Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine, which did not convict
any culprit of the Holocaust. Alongside, Austria's negligence is really
shocking, because a great number of Nazi war criminals came from this
country, the report runs.
The document also listed the most wanted Nazi war criminals with the
former Waffen SS senior officer Alois Brunner on the top. He is to blame
for the deportation of more than 100,000 Jews from Austria, Germany,
Greece, France and Slovakia in the death camps as the commander of the
Waffen SS commandoes from 1939 to 1945.
