MEMORANDUM SIGNED FOR MINING RESPONSIBILITY
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy has established a cooperation memorandum with the Initiative of Responsible Mining for Sustainable Development NGO.
Signed by D.Zorigt, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy; and L.Baigal, the NGO's executive director, the memorandum has purposes to draw up criteria for mining companies, to reflect it in the state policies, to give complex understanding to state and public organizations about the responsible mining, and to distribute the related information to the public. The sides considered that responsibilities of mining companies for environment and society will be improved, and the trilateral understanding and collaboration among the state, civil society and mining companies will get better.
