HOUSE OIL PRICE HIKE INQUIRY C'TTEE MEETS STATE AUDIT BOARD

Jakarta, Sept. 3 (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR)'s Fuel Oil Price Hike Inquiry Committee on Wednesday again held a meeting with executives of the State Audit Board (BPK) to further discuss data from BPK's audits on the oil and gas sector.

The meeting, held at the Parliament Building, was led by the committee's chairman, Zulkifli Hasan, and attended by BPK Chief Anwar Nasution.

BPK seemed to be more open about the results of its audit after several meetings with DPR since 2005.
The University Student Executive Body (BEM) in Jabotabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi) has been closely monitoring the House inquiry committee's activities.
BEM had urged the inquiry committee to work seriously and dedicatedly to address the country's problematic energy policies.
The university students especially urged the committee to disclose the case of LNG sales to China which were considered to be underpriced.
BEM even urged the committee to examine the energy policies of the present as well as past administrations that had not been in the people's best interest.
